Treating Trauma through the lens of Shen-Hammer Pulse Diagnosis

Shen-Hammer Pulse Diagnosis is both a classical and contemporary lineage that offers a much needed approach to the problems of our modern times. Most of our patients have or will experience trauma in their lives. These prevalent and impactful life experiences are of incredible importance in how we approach treatment. Dr. Monica Brown, DSOM, LAc (they/them) will offer a 45-minute introduction to some of the key principles of Shen-Hammer Pulse Diagnosis, working with trauma, and centering our patients. The lecture will be followed by 15 minutes of Q&A.

Shen Hammer Pulse Diagnosis Foundational Skills Development

St. Louis, MO  May 18 - 19 9am - 5pm

In this hands-on intensive course, we will develop a rich, foundational understanding of the Shen-Hammer pulse diagnosis tradition and the skills to palpate. Students will learn the terminology unique to the Shen-Hammer pulse system including the five categories of common qualities while beginning to develop their palpatory skills through hands-on exploration of the large segments of the pulse and the 28 individual primary and complementary positions. Certified pulse instructors provide direct and extensive hands-on feedback! Class size is limited to assure you will get sufficient direct hands-on feedback. 14 NCCAOM PDAs.

About Tracy Soletsz, DAc, LAc.

She obtained her Master of Acupuncture from the Tai Sophia Institute, now called Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH), and obtained her license to practice acupuncture in Maryland in early 2006. In 2016, she was a part of the first graduating class of the Doctor of Acupuncture program at MUIH. She holds a Diplomate of Acupuncture from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). 

Tracy has trained with world renowned masters and scholars of Asian Medicine including Lonny Jarrett, Ross Rosen, and Dr. Leon Hammer, MD and has 13 years of post-graduate apprenticeship in the Clinical Integration of Chinese Medicine in Integral Medicine.

Tracy is one of a handful of practitioners worldwide to receive certification as an instructor in the Shen-Hammer Contemporary Chinese Pulse Diagnosis lineage from Dr. Leon Hammer, MD and serves as a Member at Large on the Contemporary Oriental Medicine Foundation, dedicated to preserving and promoting the life work of Dr. Hammer.
